Multiple pedal boards. How many do you have and why?

One for bass, one for guitar, with LOTS of change..
I think I need help..

Don't see my bass pedal board getting much bigger, I'm pretty set on keeping it in one case.

6 boards, only four are wired up and populated. Two biggins for improv jams, Sonic noodling, and giggles, and two gig boards with different sized footprints depending on stage real estate.

Well proud of course! The more variety the better. I've got eight for various engagements and a rack with a pedalboard that controls it for the bigger gigs.

My “bigger “gigs are 50 folks at the bar. Playing music/making musical noise alone or with friends is my number one mental health prophylactic though. So I guess it’s all justifiable.

Does using a Boss GT-6B ánd a seperate board also counts as two? If yes, than: two. ;-)
I use the Boss for multiple effects combined under one bank (for instance, octave + fuzz + chorus) and use the board for seperate effects. Switching multiple effects on-off during songs is a PITA, that's the main reason I program them om the GT-6.

As of right now I have an OC-2, a Woolly mammoth, a Darkglass B3K and a Big Muff. Will add a seperate chorus to that.

2 boards. 1 for electric bass guitar and 1 for upright double string bass. (Big bass gets the small board with usually just a tuner and preamp/DI)

One. Its contents vary. There's always a tuner, compressor and a Darkglass overdrive on it. Sometimes some extras like a wah, octaver, fuzz or a tremolo.

One nano board for 'function' gig, which is a single signal path. I also have a PT Jnr, which I call my 'rock board' and is set up for taking advantage of both outputs from my Attitude bass (two signal paths and mix together).

Thinking about replacing them both with a Helix LT

Two boards, the band board and the fun board for messing around at home... problem is the fun board has more become a “stack the excess pedals and cables” thing with even more excess pedals going into a bag in the cupboard!

Love to hear from you pedal board junkies that are addicted to building pedal boards and have more than one board. What is the reasoning behind having more. Pictures are more than welcome!

I have two.

I'm not a pedal junkie by any means... but it gets boring to assemble and disassemble pedals in a board if you constantly have to switch, ,so my two boards are always ready to go.

I have a large one (even if it'll be tiny by the standards of some here!) with just a tuner, octave, two overdrives, G-Labs wah, phaser, compressor, cab-simulator/DI pedal (OminCabSim, to send decent distorted sounds to the desk). This is my 'fun' board. I only use that with one band. This board may vary a bit over time... At times I'd squeeze in an envelope filter, but it's not necessary with my current band(s).

Then, for the other band(s), my needs are simple, so I have a little PedalTrain thing with a tuner, a compressor and an overdrive usually set at very mild levels of gain.

I sometimes use a wireless, so there's a space in each for the transmitter should I choose to use it.

I have no pedal boards. Indeed I have no effects pedals at all. I am likely to buy a good compressor in the near future and just maybe an octave pedal. That will be it!

I have 4. 3 of them are in the practice room, getting used in 2 bands.

I have a 3 amp setup there, so the main board spits out 3 signals, 2 of them run through separate dirt boards, because I really enjoy parallel dirt on 2 amps while having a clean signal on the third amp.
Or a different effect on each amp, or ......

And this one is at home for fun - a lot of fun!

Pedals get moved between boards 2-4, but the main board stays (more or less) the same.

Ummm.... 6? Though not all are on boards, per se. 2 are on the floor.

4 for guitar. 2 are identical DOD rigs because they’re cheap, fun, and I quite like them overall. They’re my fun ones on guitar. He other two are more serious. I have my main board with just about any tone I could want. The other is made up of extras that I don’t use anymore, but are aimed at the same tone, but focused mostly on dirt and essentials, so no chorus, Flange, Filter, etc. just dirt and delay. Sometimes I buy a new pedal for the second board, but I try to keep it affordable.

My bass boards are the same ethos as the two main guitar boards. One can do anything, the other is more dirt and essentials focused. My bass boards are a bit more expensive, mostly because bass is my main instrument and I like to keep extras if I ever need that tone.

Well not entirely true, I do have a snark peddle tuner and a zoom multi stomp that I use mainly with my Fretless to get some chorus and a little reverb!

I don’t even play with him anymore but I find I can dial in everything I need tone wise through my markbass lm3

I have one main band/gigging board these days. I had a second one for a while but got tired of lugging both and got the MBD1 that changed it all for me. I cut a lot of dirt off and am back to one board. But then at home I have 2 or 3 boards that I keep built tpo keep my “extra” pedals on to play at home. I am always swapping stuff out on those nowadays though. So I normally have 2 to 3 with one of those being a main gigging board. I just picked up a Line 6 HX Effects too so I could almost count that as a pedalboard in itself! that thing is so much fun so far. And it sounds really good too.
