Music Man basses

I've owned a number of StingRay's over the years. My first was a fretted '91 4, followed by two fretted '01 5's and an '03 5 fretless with Fishman piezo. I recently bought a used Classic 5 and it is without doubt my favourite of all the MM basses I've owned. The build quality, finish and setup is spot on. I am sold on the 2 band eq over the 3 band too. A very versatile bass.

Id recommend looking intot he G&L L2000 or even the new Musicman Sabres as well ..... The Sabres are more expensive though... I only say this because you seem unsure about the HH Stingray.... I personally think you can play any bass with any genre which seems to be the general consensus in this thread, but if you are unsure those are 2 other models you could look into... Also a new L2000 could come in under the Stingray price-wise depending on what options you select.

Well to all of you advising me to buy used I am afraid that is not an option.
I live in Lebanon (hopefully someone on here should know where that is) and many famous brands aren't available at display in local shops (musicman being one of these fine brands), and are only available through shipping at very high prices (one dealer said he'd ship me the MMSR4 HH for a wopping 4470$ I kid you not, due to taxes, warranties, and shipping the instrument in a container of his own. The "I'm ripping you off" is somehow free of charge). Fenders are predominant so I'm better off fishing with a stick than hoping to find one here.
Also If I were to buy one off of TB or any other forum, or even ebay, the shipping costs to my country (middle east) would be something close to 400-500$ which would take me back to 15 hundred $ mark ALL WHILE BUYING A USED INSTRUMENT.

A close relative (no music knowledge whatsoever) is soon traveling to the states, bringing my beautiful Stingray back with her along with her luggage (pretty nice deal). But I thought there was still room for speculation but now I'm completely convinced that it's my one and only choice.

Thanks to everyone on here for being supportive and informative. WIsh you all luck in your musical careers. Thanks
