I know a lot of people are put off by the aesthetics, especially the proportions: they enlarged the headstock and shrunk the body, so I know some don't find it very balanced-looking. But there are plenty of very nice P/J basses out there already with larger bodies.
The feel and balance of this bass is wonderful, and the smaller body contributes to its light weight, which is one of the reasons I bought it. An 8 pound instrument of this quality is worth a little oddness to the proportions, for me. And honestly, I only really noticed it when I read other people mentioning it ... it doesn't bother me at all.
I certainly wouldn't mind if they offered it in two body sizes - that would be really cool, actually, because it's a wonderful instrument and I'd love for people who don't like the small body to still be able to enjoy this bass - but I'd hate to lose this version.
