I have never been one to worry about light instrument weight. The only basses I've ever even picked up that I found cumbersome are the bubinga-bodied Warwick Thumb and Corvette, and I firmly believe that heavier instruments sound "better". But, all this obsession I see online with instrument weight, especially since the StingRay Special has now entirely replaced the StingRay, has made me wonder just how heavy my instruments really are, so I finally got around to weighing my 玉子 (Tamako), and she tips the scales at 9.4 lbs. She's never felt too heavy to me, she feels just right. My only complaint is her preamp is a bit hissy, which someday I will get around to sorting. It's manageable if I don't crank the treble.
BTW, where is the list of numbers? I can't remember if I was ever assigned one. (Found it on Page 1. Apparently, I am #548, which is odd, since I've been a member here for over 16 years and bought my first StingRay in 2002, a 1995 Sunburst fretless model that had been hanging in the shop for 7 years.)

I used to have a L'Oreal Paris lipstick in just about exactly that color. It was a limited edition for some charity or other. I wonder if I still have it?
Same. The whole reason my first bass was a 5er is because I don't like P-basses and the Jazz neck felt awkwardly skinny to me. Coming over from guitar, the Jazz Plus V neck felt natural. On any 4 string, I know I'm not going to like a 1.5" neck. If I bought a Fender 4, it'd be a Jazz with a P neck.

I've got a bad itch for the new BFR SR5 HH, so I am toying with selling my 20th anniversary SR5 HH. It's in near mint condition, hard to find any flaws. I bought it from the original owner back in December and haven't used it much since then. If you're interested, shoot me a PM and we can discuss.

I already have an SR5HH that I can't ever imagine selling, but those anniversary models with the flamed top and no pickguard to hide that beautiful finish are really sweet!
I just picked this SR5 up. My 20th is a bit heavy and this one weighs in at 8lbs 13oz. The Firemist Purple is growing on me. Cleaned her up, installed Dunlop strap loccks, put my string brand on, gave her a set up. Looking forward to gigging her. Sounds great, of course. Thinking about picking up a Carbon Fiber Pickguard.
