Those All Rosewood necks are Beautiful! My son has a Black HH with Rosewood neck. Very Nice!

I mentioned earlier that after the stock pickup in my SR4 died that I had replaced it with a nordstrand MM.2. Now I'm thinking about taking advantage of the nordy's four wire design and installing a three way switch to make it work like a SR5. Just curious for input from anybody that's done this...

Yup. I've found my "forever bass," and it's my Stingray 4. I may have other basses from time to time (have an Am. Std. P now), but will never get rid of my 'Ray, and it's what I play most of the time.

Incoming full rosewood necked SR5!
Just picked this baby up from the Bassplace in Arizona.
Can't wait to feel the solid rosewood neck. To all the rosewood neck owners.....what should I expect. Is the neck usually heavier on these? Are there neck dive issues? I'm expecting this bass to be a bit heavier since it's a HH so maybe it'll balance good.

My SR5 with its 4 string brothers. The SR5 has a perfect tone, great balance and insane action.
Amazingly enough, my BFR rosewood SR4HH gets the least play, but it sure is pretty.

Before anything else, it looks great. Nut and radius are the same as the standard SR4. It might be a hair thinner(front to back) than some of the SR4's i have played, but that is more anecdotal evidence, nothing scientific. It is very comfortable. The rosewood itself has a very smooth feel to it. I was expecting more of a open grained wood feel, like wenge. However, it's just about as smooth as maple. Tone wise, I never had another 3 band SR4 to compare it to back to back, but i feel its tad darker with a more present low mid thing going on. It's still a stingray with a slightly different character. Not sure if this helps.

Cool. Do find it's heavier than the necks on your classics as far as neck dive. How do you clean the back of the neck? I can't imagine anything serious but I could see wiping it down every now and again.

NBD #1 for me. This just in. I took a chance on eBay with this amazing unlined fretless SR5Hp. It's still in just about new condition. Exceeded my expectations on all my initial inspections. Plays great and just is a beauty to look at.

Love that Gold! I don't play fretless, but that is sweet.

That is killer. Love the gold too. EB has so many variations of gold. Mine is called Lucky Gold. It looks to me like your's is Medallion Gold

Both balance nicely. My classic and BFR both weight in right around 9.5 pounds, so i am not sure if that helps the balance, if the necks are heavier. Maybe it could be an issue with an extremely light body, but I haven't ever had any neck dive issues.
