Your shirt looks plenty festive. And so do theirs. The other two guys in the photo just happen to be wearing shirts whose color schemes match the background where they happen to be playing.

See avatar: that's usually me. Bottom line: my bands play a variety of genres, and "bass-ic black" works for any of 'em.

I wear a Hawaiian shirt at outdoor gigs with my classic R&B band because that's their custom. And for hot outdoor gigs with other bands, I have a selection of odd t-shirts... some of which are not black.
