I'm not sure about older models maybe having a different case, but there is no possibility of a ray fitting in my bongo case. It fits the bongo's unique shape very snug

Just an update in case someone is curious about the same thing in the future...
The Bongo does NOT fit in a StingRay case, and vice-versa. In addition, the Bongo does not fit in Roadrunner hardshell cases either.
