I've never had any problems with mine and have never heard anything like that noise in the video dude. Sounds like Re - Mi - Do - Do- So to me! View attachment 579653View attachment 579655

I still call some sort of shenanigans with one of the pedals. I ran BOD > Bass Envelope Filter for years and never had a problem. This isn't a common issue with these pedals. Sonically they were made to work with each other in that order.
That sounds similar to my experience with the BOD.Oddly, I get a whole load of odd tracking noise with my MXR BOD at certain settings. A good dose of input mid eq seems to help the tracking massively and reduces the strange noise I'm hearing. It seems to get worse in the upper registers....and in my situation with my Music Man pickup....it sounds pretty rubbish when played over the 12th fret. But...lower than that around the 8th fret and it sounds great.
If that's directed at me;build a mountain out of mashed potatoes
Haha
If that's directed at me;
The OP has a noise in or before his BEF, removed the BOD and the noise is gone.
If you haven't had any problems, fantastic. I had a lot of noise in my signal chain which I tracked to the BOD. Replaced with a Markbass and a Aguilar and the noise was gone. I'm not the first person to report an issue with an MXR pedal.
No mountain, just a pedal. Returned, replaced and resolved. Fwiw Love my BEF & M81.

Ok, my bad. i got the musical reference but never watched the movie. Thanks Silky.He's referencing a scene from Close Encounters, which was a movie references earlier in the thread.
So bizarre. Mine always worked brilliantly in the problematic order for you, and neither of my units did it with any other pedals.
I don't like putting envelopes ahead of octaves, so I wouldn't be okay with their proposed solution. Since I love the BOD, but didn't really love the BEF, is suggest replacing the envelope with something less problematic and keeping your preferred order. I use a 3Leaf Proton with great success, but there are TONS of great envelope filters out there... Or you could just live with the pedal order and not have it cost you a dime![]()
Wow, what a cool sound! I would totally use that as an intro to a big rock opus...start out with just it, maybe add some other noises and build on it, then bust out into some grandly arrogant rock opera.
