MXR Bass Envelope Filter - Video from outer space...

I've never had any problems with mine and have never heard anything like that noise in the video dude. Sounds like Re - Mi - Do - Do- So to me! IMG_1867.jpg

I hear you. It could be that there were different revs of the circuit boards maybe?

It's consistently there if I put the BOD in front of the BEF. Sort of sounds like some new Bruno Mars tune (lyrics) ha.

That sounds similar to my experience with the BOD.

My BOD added a bunch of weird noise to my signal chain on or off. My BEF has been great and I use it quite a bit.

The OP has a noise in or before his BEF, removed the BOD and the noise is gone.

If you haven't had any problems, fantastic. I had a lot of noise in my signal chain which I tracked to the BOD. Replaced with a Markbass and a Aguilar and the noise was gone. I'm not the first person to report an issue with an MXR pedal.

No mountain, just a pedal. Returned, replaced and resolved. Fwiw Love my BEF & M81.

Yeah I may have to trade my BOD for an Octamizer. I've had one before and dug it.

Hey All,

I got an update from MXR support. "This is a normal interaction between the M82 Bass Envelope filter and the M288 Bass octave deluxe pedal. All you will need to do to get the noise to go away is to swap the order of the pedals so that the M82 is before the M288. Let us know if you have any other questions".

So there we have it.

So bizarre. Mine always worked brilliantly in the problematic order for you, and neither of my units did it with any other pedals.

I don't like putting envelopes ahead of octaves, so I wouldn't be okay with their proposed solution. Since I love the BOD, but didn't really love the BEF, is suggest replacing the envelope with something less problematic and keeping your preferred order. I use a 3Leaf Proton with great success, but there are TONS of great envelope filters out there... Or you could just live with the pedal order and not have it cost you a dime :p

I'm agreeing with you when it comes to the order. Conventionally speaking and what just about everyone says. I've only had an AG Filter Twin which was a great pedal actually.... Hmmmmm...
