I've been thinking about getting a power supply for my board to replace a one spot daisy chain and the wall wart for an H9. The H9 wants a positive ground and the advertising for the mini iso brick says it can handle both negative and positive. There's a video on Sweetwater showing the mini iso brick powering an H9 and a few other pedals. There's no mention of a ground reverse switch or special cable. Is something like that required or does it just not care which way the juice is flowing?

You mixed up positive ground and reverse polarity. H9 has reverse polarity.
On this video you see blue cable for H9, which I suggest some custom reverse polarity cable. So yes, video is slightly misleading.

I think buying this cable would help. Looks like H9 also had 2.5 connector, not standard Boss 2.1
