Maybe a little off the subject, but you might try a MIJ OC-2. I used one through a single 15" and thought it sounded very warm and tight. It elicited the singer to turn his head with funk face. Wish I still had it. I got rid of it because it was beat to ****.

The trouble with the MIJ OC-2s is that you have to worry with ACA -vs- PSA power supplies. I've owned six or so OC-2s, played many more. The best sounding ones were MIT. Mr. Pickles has the best sounding one and I bug him every few months to try and get it back.

I just wonder if I was using a PSA power supply with the older MIJ pedals that I've owned.

is there a single octaver that will "duplicate" that M9 Drive Octave setting? i enjoyed this thread, very informative.

Roll your treble back & boost your bass a bit if you're running active. Turn your tone down if you're running passive.

this worked great for mine. I was having same issues as the OP.
Dunlop/MXR suggested the same thing to me.
