Never heard of this beast!

Yeah, neither did I until last week! Glenn at Bass Specialties suggested it when I told him my price range. I would have never even tried it out otherwise.

i bet it sounds amazing. those glock pres kill. i've only played one through a groove shoppe 5 and i still think about that bass all of the time...mmm mmm good.

I'm not sure to be honest. It doesn't have the specs on the website, but I'll see if I can find out. It's fairly tight spacing though

Seriously though, I'm still messing around with the tones to find that sweet spot for my music, but so far I've been able to pretty closely replicate a Stingray type of tone as well as a really bassy jazz tone. It really has a ton of options. I'm not much of a slap/pop bassist, but the passive mode seems to have a really good bite to it (I'm sure someone who can actually play slap bass would get some great tones out of it!)

I'd say the only con that I have encountered is that the body is a little wider than I am used to (I used to play a Spector with a very narrow design), so it's forced me to have to change my posture/stance a bit. But it's incredibly well balanced and very light weight so I haven't experienced any fatigue yet (broke it in at a 3 hour gig on Friday)

In terms of the overall sound with my band, it really punches through the mix and the lows are crystal clear. My Spector used to always get muddy in the lower range.

I think it's supposed to have an adjustable bridge, I read in a magazine that one can get it to 19mm. Might be wrong...

It has single and double coil configurations. The shop where I bought it installed the switch while I was there, so I'm not sure if they are shipped standard.

In terms of the sound, I've gotten pretty damn close to a music man ray tone. Also get a nice warm jazzish tone out of it. Believe it or not, I've never been much of a P-bass player (aside from a cheap Squier 11 years ago when I first staretd out), so I honestly don't know what a good P tone would sound like, haha. I'm sure it's possible to get one though with all the configs.

Well this is my first post, i saw this post while googling around for the OC4-5 line of basses. I bought mine without even trying it out first Had seen Ed´s vid on the tube and just fell for the look. (there not avail in Sweden, so i had to order from Germany).I do NOT regret buying this beauty! It´s an awesome instrument.The sounds you can get out of it are truly astonishing.
The earlier models had no coil tap switch but they are fitted from factory now.And yes you can adjust the string spacing on the bridge. Anyways ive been lurking around reading/lookin on these forums for a very long time and this was a good excuse to finally register. Here is a pic of my OC4 /Slap
