My Aguilar db112...DEAL

Okay, I only got to play about a half-hour today. I used the Classic '50s P in one of the below photos. My initial thoughts:

First off, I've been using my Genz-Benz Shuttle 9.0 into a Genz-Benz Uber 410. That is a great rig, and the Uber 410 is a fantastic cab.

The two Aguilars look better than I expected. They sound very good, but a lot different (as you'd expect) from the Uber 410. The Uber sounds punchier, with much better clarity on the higher notes (without sacrificing the lower bass notes). I think that overall, the Uber provides a better all-around, "total package" sound.

The Aggies have a syrupy bottom that sounds great, but is lacking a bit in the highs. I had to boost the mids a bit on the Shuttle with the Aggies. Also, I've only had a chance to play the Classic '50s through the Aggies so far. I normally rotate the 6 basses I keep at home. I usually go in this order: '50s Classic; 2011 Am. Std. Jazz; MIJ E-Series P; 2012 FSR Am. Std. Jazz (Red Wine Stain); 60th Anniv. P; and '08 Am. Std. Jazz. So I'll get a better feel for how well I like the Aggies after running all of them through.

My initial thought is that they will not displace my Uber 410 as my main rig, but will be an excellent 2nd rig. I'm also looking forward to running my upright through ONE of the Aggies.

There is one screw near the Aguilar logo I believe where you are able to turn the logo so they look normal stacked vertically.

EDIT: Now that I see how you did it, I think you would have needed to put the feet on the other side of the cabs in order for the logo to display on the top.

So after messing with them for a while.... I love them. I am used to that Ampeg mid growl I just could not tame with these cabs.....So last night I went for more of the scouped tone (think Phil Lesh or Mike Gordon) and WOW. The ass on these small cabs is amazing. They are not wooly mid range but more wide and full in the low end...... I also added the extra feet to vertically stack them. I don't know if that made a difference as well.

For $326 they are staying.

got my pair Monday and gigged them last night.I'm using a Mag 600 with a S.D.twin tube pre amp pedal.Very happy with the deal of the decade.Truly a gift.Much lighter than the pair of tl606 s I've been schlepping around and a tighter sound to boot.Added casters to one and got a highly portable LOUD stack.Thank you talk bass.I'm going to use and abuse these for quite a while.
