You need to find a REAL tech, someone with access to and ability to read schematics.
Someone local, someone that specializes in this type of equipment.
This will most likely NOT be at guitar center or best buy.

I would, but I live at least four hours away from anyone who is authorized.

They don't have to be G.K. certified, just GOOD.
O.K. fellers who do we have in Idaho that can recommend a repair tech for this brother?
Surely there are some closer than 4 hours. Or I reckon you could contact G.K. and ship it out for repair.
A technician that can't fix something pi$$es me off.
It might not be cost effective to do the repairs as opposed to just getting a replacement.
But if you are a technician and say "I can't find the problem ",
I'll tell YOU where the fukkin problem is feller.

My main rig that i use is a GK MB212 old version.
Absolutely LOVE that amp.
We were playing a show on saturday in a nightclub thats in a basement.
Great show, maybe 150 people there amp held its own without pa support and all was good.
As we are leaving im at the top of the stairs and re-adjust my grip as i opened the door and there it went.
Boom/bam/boom/boom/bam :'(
It didnt make it..... R.I.P.
But on the bright side of things i have my 2 Avatar 4x10's and Sunn 300W Tube head that i used for outdoors gigs and from my earlier days before i went lightweight and now ive come to a decision.
Going to sell the setup and buy the newer model GK MB212-II with the powered 212MBP.
Figure 1000W thru a 4x12 can handle the outdoor shows and the MB212-II can handle everything else.
Im just hoping the newer models have the same sound as the older ones.

Sorry for the OP's loss.

I bought my son a Les Paul Studio for Christmas when he was 8 or 9 (I was going to play it too) for Christmas a few years back.

He unwrapped the guitar on Christmas morning, he was excited and ran to the basement to plug it in. We put it on a strap and the strap immediately came off the pin before he played a single note. Headstock flew right off the guitar on impact.

I freaked (I kinda ruined Christmas that year!) but got it fixed like new for $100 the following week.

My wife asked me on Christmas Eve as we were wrapping presents why I put Straplocks on all my basses but didn't on an expensive guitar to be played by a kid. Because I am a dumbass is the obvious answer as I had spare sets of Straplocks lying around.

Well sir then perhaps you should get a more durable instrument like THIS.

Although there are folks that can destroy this,
with a Q-Tip.

True! But if you lie the instrument down flat - preferably on a couch or a rug or some carpet, cushions, toweling - it can't fall far from there I lost one once to bumps and gravity. Never again
