MY BEAT BUDDY IS HERE!

from these videos im guessing that the jazz beats either dont exist or are just really lame...?? been asking for some since the old thread

Why would you guess that? Just because out of three videos no one made a jazz video? Seems kind of shortsighted.

I am not sure why this product (seemingly more than many others) seems to inspire so much hatred. I think it's pretty cool. My issue would be that I would want the output to run straight to my PA and not my bass amp - but that seems easy enough. As such I wouldn't have it on my pedalboard but next to it.

I would ask people to pipe down on the hatred as its effect will be just to amplify confirmation bias.

Given that part of the beauty of the BeatBuddy is that you can load your own tracks, why would this stop you?

(unless of course you are like me and you have little faith in your ability to load tracks)

That's fair, although I think if you are exclusively or primarily interested in one particular style you will want to learn how to program (or get MIDI files from elsewhere) anyway.

(I see @Mosfed just made a similar point.)

I got that it left Grand Rapids on Tuesday night, no update since. Still on allegedly on pace for tomorrow.

Goran, our director of content, is a classically trained jazz drummer - so yes, there are jazz beats and they're awesome! :-)

We're in the process now of making videos showing all of the different beat styles. Jazz included.

The official demo never used anything but "rock" beats. Does this unit have jazz or R&B type beats?

There have been ska, latin, R&B, metal, and hip-hop demos IIRC. I'm least sure about the hip-hop. I'm certain of the others.

Glad we got that straightened out and everyone is feeling better.

Mine arrived today, had a brief chance to check it out, but the serious test will have to wait for the weekend. The Standard and Rock kits were used as well as Blues, Rock, and Funk songs. Listened through headphones and tried it as the last pedal before heading into the MarkBass/ACME setup. Sounds great.
