"plain" maple, not the board that wilser would use, but simmilar...

That might look a bit odd with the wenge block inlays, well, IMO anyway-but I could change the inlays...
I have a bass w/ ebony, so I think I need one w/ maple. I really like the look of the maple board w/ dark blocks...kinda like the Geddy Jazz.
Ok, I just emailed Wil, I'm going with the plain. I think it'll match better with the wenge inlays. I'll let someone else, who isn't covering the board in wenge blocks, have that nice piece. I was looking this weekend at my bass with an ebony board and abalone blocks and realized that I didn't even notice the ebony at all, just the blocks. So, I'm going classic, understated, vintage, with the plain board.

Crazy that this thread resurfaced. Yesterday I thought about this bass but couldnt think who made it. I really think this is THE BEST modern take on the Jazz Bass. It's combination of vintage and modern styling is executed perfectly. That rear shot with the contoured heel just gave me really bad GAS pains. I'm subscribing to this thread and will definately consider a Ramirez when its new bass time.

There's a little "birthmark" on the neck, discoloration of the wood. I chose to keep it, I like the "I'm a real piece of wood" statement that it makes. Plus no one but me'll ever see it.
