My experience with bassstringsonline.com part 2!

Spent $$$ in gas for a trip to a GuitardCenter looking for some swank neon orange strings for my black bass (Halloween colors and all for upcoming gigs).:bassist:

They had a less than stellar selection. :spit:

Decided to finally give "BSOnline" a shot. :hiding:

Ordered a set of "DR Neon Orange" on a Saturday.
I live in Massachusetts, 1 mile from the Atlantic Ocean.
I got my strings on TEUSDAY, from Woodland Hills, California. :hyper:
Spent less on shipping than the gas to get back and forth to GC.

I'm never going to GuitardCenter for strings again. Ever.

I gotta chuckle at a thought I just had from reading through some of these posts just like the one above. Jason and bassstringsonline have become the "Bermuda Triangle" of strings and accessory suppliers. Once customers go in they never come back out to their previous source. LOL The pricing and service is that good.

How often in this business do we get the opportunity to deal online with a pro bassist who knows his products and music so well that he can match a players needs up with the right string often from just a brief description of what you're looking for?

At least that's the way it's worked for me. A year ago upon getting back to the low end after spending some years playing my six strings I asked him for a suggestion for something to replace the strings on my Jazz Bass. He narrowed it down to two or three choices that would do what I was looking for tonally, I ordered the GHS Pressure Wounds and I'm on my second set. Best sounding and playing strings I've ever played on that style bass.

I think the key is that as a player himself everyone who does business with him gets treated the same way that he'd wanted to be treated himself if he was the buyer rather than the seller. That type of business mentality is pretty scarce these days.

I think that Jason and his enterprise have become a huge asset to all of us around here. Thanks for that Jason. It's much appreciated. :)

Sweet! Go MASS ! Maybe I'll get mine that fast too!

Jay was awesome, allowed me to change my order for stock not listed on the site

Bought some strings on his recommendations, he knows a HELL of a lot more than I do about em and posting here you'll get a million completely opposite reviews so its hard to really know what you're getting

Trusting in this dude

Ha! I was at Northeastern - right around the Block from Berklee!

Still live in MA and that area is not what it used to be. Then again, not sure how old you are! I was 1982-1987. Heavy punk scene at the RathSkeller - S.S.D. and the Boston Crew - the Swinging Erudites (with Johnny Angel - now of California Talk radio fame. If you know him or about him, you will find it amusing that he and I and his girlfriends shared an apartment for 2 years!)

Yeah, still fun to see a show at the Berklee performance center, and walk around and talk to folks and grab a slice of Sicilian.

Back on topic?

Man, why did it take me so long to try BassStringsOnlinedotcom? St00pit!

ps: Jason - that bass I needed advice on...the Medium Scale "Moon" - it just arrived.

:)

once again Jason called me personally on the phone to assure me that the set of strings are in the mail but that my 5 string set would be in a 6 string box.No problem here, but the call was nice and 2 non musicians in the car with me heard the call and later were talking to each other about what a great company I was dealing with.Cool huh

The only bad thing about Bass Strings Online is that I want to try every single string set he has (except flats!), PLUS custom balanced sets, rainbow colored sets, progressive tension sets...arrrgghhhh!!

LOL, only bad for you and your bank account bongo. It's all good for Jason and the manufacturers. ;)

Maybe there's a chapter of SAA (String Addicts Anonymous) near you. :D

Slap on! :bassist:
