My first gig with full PA support is coming up

Allow me to use this holiday to take a slightly contrary viewpoint...

Pedro, just go and do what you and your band does and let the soundman worry about relaying it to the house. Don't do anything you wouldn't ordinarily do. Set up close to each other if you want everyone to hear you. Your sound will get out there. A 60w amp isn't loud but it isn't quiet, either, especially when being pumped through subs. With separate monitor mixes + subs, your band should be able to hear you fine.

Thanks Jimmy. Generally speaking we play at pretty low volume. But we have played this room before without PA support and its a big room. The result is that to get a good sound out front without PA support the stage mix had to be sacrificed and that takes a lot of the joy, and IMO, the musicality out of the performance.

One other concerns regarding the monitors though is that I am considering using my B15, which I've used plenty at rehearsals. My concern is that if we don't put some of it thru the monitors, and we set up too far apart from each other, the other guys in the band may not be able to hear me.

Given what you said about the monitor mixing that is available, I'd say don't worry about it. If the guitarist is on the far side of the stage from you, he may or may not want to hear more of you than he can from your B15. If he wants more, he can ask for it in his monitor.
