My GAS: Roscoe

Im going for the same combo as him, swamp ash and wenge and demeter. I know swamp ash is what i want, i dont like the tone of any of the other body woods.

So as long as wenge doesnt take away bite im fine. From what he says im guessing it just rounds out a bit of the harsh treble bite of maple?

The Wenge still provides plenty of bite and attack! As you mentioned, the harshness of the Maple is smoothed out a bit with the Wenge, and as Sean mentioned, the upper mids are enhanced. It's a great fretboard wood to use with the Roscoes, especially with the Demeter preamp.

Sounds good.

I just need to be patient. I can wait a year if i have to.

Plus with this much money i want to be 100% its what i want. By the time i order it, ill probably have played Whafro's, and then that will let me decide for sure if it is right for me.

What's with all the wenge talk here? Didn't you guys see the beautiful bass at The Groove Shoppe? Not a speck of wenge on it, but it's an absolute show-stopper!

I'm a maple consumer myself. I like the clear response you get from it, and the growl you can get from it. I'm a Marcus fan too, so I guess there's no hope for me. ;)

Gotta love hearin' that! :D

I have to say that the black/gold hardware isn't my "thing", but on THAT bass........oh yeahbaby, yeah! Nice bass, very very nice...

Yea i know, on that bass it just looks AMAZING.
That hole kind thing in the buckeye where you can see the back is awesome too. They told me they waited thirteen months for that bass, and just got it in yesterday night. Sold today in 3 hours. I didn't get to play it because it had already sold, but it looks insaaaane. By the way my bass teacher is Glenn Schuetz....

Glenn has the red SKB 3005 fretless, right? :) That's a nice bass!

Well, they won't be waiting 13 months for the next one now...if they re-order it, that is! We really dug that void in the top where you can see the ash as well....
