You just need to tell her that just because thats how the bass players in her favorite bands got to where they are, its not the norm at all. Lets face it, exactly how many good bass players are in mainstream rock bands? Theres flea.... and thats about it. and the new chilis suck anyways show her some vic wooten, or les claypool solo videos and ask her when the last time she saw a guitar player do that was
