I am as big a Geddy fan as anyone, and I love relic basses, but 8 g's? Really? You could buy a legit 72 jazz for WAY less than that.

I say this with the utmost affection: you buy this and you still can't play like him.

And I'm a big fan!

Now check this idea: If you really want to be like Mr Lee, why don't you shop the pawn shops in your area for those gems that we all know (and he proved) are out there. And if you're traveling, shop there too. Maybe even Kalamazoo, know what I'm sayin'?

Remember, Geddy wasn't a Jazz bass player till he found that one. Think of what you might find. Think of what you might pay.

Not $8000. Trust me, the dude's kids got braces and they're in college and he doesn't need the money. No need to make a contribution, know what I mean?

If you're a big Geddy fan, do it the way he did it. And remember, he didn't even have ebay back then.

Fender CS does this all the time... remember the Dusty Hill bass? My local music store has 2 and has been trying to sell them as used forever. Its a cool enough bass, but not for 5K or whatever. And why would they put the MOP blocks on the neck? More people know Geddy to have the black blocks than the pearl. Maybe I will drive down to Scottsdale and ask them what is going on.
