This Bacchus looks very tempting.

I owned lots of Fender Japan instruments, still do: a Fender Bass VI from 2013, a Duck Dunn Precision, the Noel Redding Jazz, a Squier JV Preci, a 75 Jazz etc.

I thought this would be the best to buy, if you can not or will not afford US Fenders. Now I own 5 US Fender basses and I like them a lot, but the japanese ones are every bit as good. Some might not have the greatest pick-ups or electronics - the cheaper ones. But the necks on all of them and esp. the general workmanship are better and more consistent than on most US Fender instruments. If I now try budget Fender instruments from Indonesia or Mexico, the quality is very good in relation to price, but the necks - I tried some Squier CVs - feel so cheap. Never was the case with japanese Fenders.

That one is the third Bacchus I have owned. That one I got as a passive bass but installed an Audere preamp in it. One of my best sounding basses. And the build quality is every bit as good as a way more expensive Japanese Sadowsky Metro I had.

Not to brag, I had an '81 Toyota Tercel. It was a little nicer than a Datsun 210.

I had a '84 Tercel followed by a '89 Mitsubishi Eclipse. The last Japanese car I had was a Subaru BRZ. Fun little car!

Ahhh...this brings me back. After suffering a nearly-deadly lemon (a part of me deep inside always cringes at the mention of the Ford Fiesta ) and couple of clunkers, my single-mom mother was finally able to muster the financial means to get us a 1984 Toyota Celica GT-S Liftback in a cool-as-hell metallic dark blue. Six years later, she upgraded to a 1989 Acura Integra and gifted me with the Celica. Eventually, the Acura became mine, but the Celica will always be special since it was my first ride.

Since then, I've become a die-hard Volkswagen man, but two of them have been in that same dark metallic blue.

Also, it's worth mentioning that those first-generation Acura Integra models were absolutely amazing...one of two cars that I would've kept much, much longer if they hadn't been totaled from a rear-end collision.

I also was a VW guy, had 16V GTI, VR6 GTI, Turbo GTI, Passat Wagon, Passat Sedan, Golf Sportwagon TDI.....

Now I am a Two V guy! Got a Volvo V60 and Vette!
