Yeah yeah zombie thread but gives people some background.
I just bought a big board to do this whole thing over again.
Obviously there will be some changes, I didn't have issues last time but there are plenty of things I would change this time around.
The core is going to be the M13 and the LS-2 and it won't have the blending possibilities it had before with clean (ie. No X-Blender)
I'm working it on the principle of a
Bass, effected bass and synth bass side with a more pitchshifted and noise based other side.
With a lot more around rythmic fx, maybe a Boss Slicer or an Adrenalinn III midi sync'ed to the M13
I will do some fairly convoluted signal chains around the board using additional outs on pedals such as the Octron 2
I will cut down on expr and volume pedals by using some switchers and maybe some midi implementation that might be waist weight once I've done some more research.
At the moment the line up is looking like
MSD Earth Quake 2 Wah or Wilson Freaker
Subdecay Flying Tomato
Foxrox Octron 2
Line 6 M13
Boss FV500L
Subdecay Proteus
Subdecay Prometheus
Subdecay Echobox
Subdecay Quasar Dlx
Subdecay Noisebox
Catalinbread Merkin
Mojohand 442
Boss LS-2 though this may get changed out for a Badger Schism soon.
XDS X2 Wireless
My band board will become
X2 Wireless
Turbo Tuner
Subdecay Super Nova Drive
Catalinbread Chili Boost
Catalinbread SFT
So this can also function as a preboard for the big board if there was something that specifically required lots of gain options.
I own all of the above already except the Subdecay DLX as obviously it's not released yet.
I think I'm also going to look at running it with My Trace Elliot TVT9 Preamp and have the board do pre and post preamp fx with the routing and stuff so that a considerable amount is done in the fx loop of the preamp and then simply sent via the emulated xlr to the desk for recording.
I have 2 projects coming up requiring this sort of setup, one is for a rapper my drummer has got involved with and the other is again with my drummer in a similar style to Nerve.
Also my band requires some interludes between our tracks that we've been trying to program some synths for (not our strongest suite) so I'll be doing all that and then finally some solo stuff and some collaborations with Brian Beyke who some of you may know as BTBAM off HCFX and TGP
I'm open to suggestions on setups and changes some people would make given some of the new stuff that is available now.
