I personally don't "get" these types of instruments, but I listened to your sample stuff and it is very nice and I can see the attraction. I'm too stuck in my "this is a bass, and this is a guitar" mindset to be able to attack that (I never could get comfortable on a Chapman Stick). Well, that and my tendonitis started acting up just looking at your bass

On a side note, as my playing gets better, I keep wanting more strings. I'm up to wanting 6 for those chords, ease of long walks, and solo playing... UH OH. Soon I'll be moving in with one of these.

I requested ULTRA LOW action on this bass. The neck relief should be straight as an arrow. I'm still waiting on UPS to come knocking at the door with my bass,... any minute now!

Good god, man. That's beautiful. I wouldn't be able to play "Mary Had a Little Lamb" on it, but that's one of the coolest basses I've ever seen. Congrats on realizing your vision, and props to the luthier.

What are the dimensions of that bass, particularly the width of the neck and the length from the tip of the headstock to the bottom of the body?

It looks like there's too much awesome stuffed into that thing for it to be anything other than huge.

If you have company visiting, you can offer your bed to the guests. Roll out a sleeping bag ontop of your bass... then have sweet dreams.

Your bass has its own zipcode. That's why the courier is taking so long... because they're confused at the address.

Oh, and don't watch for a van. It'll probably be a flatbed truck with "Wideload" signs, possibly surrounded by a police escort.

BREAKING NEWS: A UPS truck in Newport Ohio has been reported stolen. All contents on board the truck were dumped into the Leighty Lake. Police are reporting that all packages are ruined and all goods are now the property of the court as evidence. Trial expected to last years.

I could actually see this being a bafflingly useful instrument if I got really, really good at tapping. Though, I would have opted for the low F#. But, that's just me.
