My new bass build.

Greetings, I am building my very first bass guitar. 4 strings, 34 inch scale. P bass style pickup.
Black limba is my choice of body wood, with quilted redwood for the top, and walnut for the neck.
When i planed the black limba, there was a subtle quilting which i love.
i have built 5 guitars before, but this is my first bass build.

Sure it does. A P bass has two coil and usually two pots. You could also do a 2x2 headstock, there's two more twos right there!

Again, very nice. Did you glue up the blanks for the checkerboard ones? Looks like a decent amount of work.

The checkerboard ones, we're glued twice. I sandwiched dark and light, then cut and sandwiched again.

Just sanded the glue off the front and back, great to see no gaps. Onward a and upward.

Spent some time today getting this stunning top flush in the middle. A little more sanding to do.
