I bought this bass a few weeks ago, finally took some pictures of it.

The shop told me it was build in Reghin in Romania by Domnul Ducur. It is a 3/4 (103,5 cm string length), needs a 4/4 size bag.

I bought the bass in a Dutch Luthier/shop, Invalid Link Removed, They make their own pickups.
They do a propper setup of the bass and also install their own (adjustable)bridge, tailpiece and strings matching the instrument.

The price was 3700 Euro.
I could not see a label inside the bass.

I really like the sound, it is full with a nice bass response. It settles nice in the band I play in (singer/songwriter with violin ac. guitar. elec. guiter, percussion and me). In the end of April we will hit the studio to record an album. So now I'm practicing to get my intonation right ;)

Sorry both for the newbie Q and being a bit off topic: on your photo 5 of 7, what are the black knobs on the tuner screws and what purpose do they serve? I ask because I have notice on a few occasions a rattling from my head stock only to find the large G tuner screw loose. Wondering if this is solution.

BTW, very nice looking bass. How about a link for ear candy as well?

Those "knobs" are part of what are called "hatpeg tuners." The tuning rollers are ebony and are attached to the gears. I like the look. It's not at all a solution for a rattling tuning key. Then again, perhaps you were referring to the fact that the tuning knobs themselves appear to be ebony on the OP's bass. They aren't covering metal tuning keys; the keys themselves are ebony.
