Very satisfied, it was a real bear installing 300lb+ door. It works great. I have yet to put in the floor seal as the door still leads to the unfinished part of my basement, so the flooring ends at the door. That’s this years winters project.

Ideally you have two staping helpers who’ve installed doors before helping you.

Looking forward to progress pictures. If I'm understanding correctly it sounds like you're not using the included threshold and still getting good performance. Is that right?

I was planning on hiring it out to my door contractor, but if it's simple enough I might take it on myself. I've got some guys in mind that could help.

Isodoor. There were to many compromises in how I was able to isolate the rest of my room that didn’t justify the added expense.

That is correct. I’d highly recommend a contractor. It wasn’t fun and my brother in law has been doing contracting on the side for 20 years. Without his help it would have been rough.

I have not installed the threshold because the flooring and subfloor stop at the outside edge of the door and since the floor is floating II need the other side to attach it too. The sweeper on the bottom of the door is adjustable so I’ve got it set low now to make contact with the floor. I can raise it to get clearance for the threshold when I’m ready.

Main room priming is complete. Tomorrow night I should be able to knock out the vestibule. I should be able to paint this weekend. Wallpaper for the main room ceiling arrives on Tuesday.

Once the paint is done I can hang the HVAC components. With that and the lighting I need to pick out and procure I’ll be done with the electrical and HVAC contractors. That will only leave the door contractor as the remainder of the third party support needed to get this finished. I’ll be very happy to be done with contractors and only be beholden to my own schedule.

I didn't get a chance to prime last night, so I'll be going full force at it tonight. The goal is to completely prime the vestibule. It's a small space, so I'm optimistic. Tomorrow night, after getting back from having a fractured tooth repaired (ouch!) I'm going to pick up all of the paint so I'll be ready to tackle that over the weekend.

Funny how big a difference having all the money on-hand to get it done makes progress happen :p

...not to mention permit hangups... contractor delays... horribly taxing solo drywall efforts...
