I, or rather my contractor, had a similar experience with a wine cellar door. The door manufacturer provided guidance, and a solution was easily obtained (to the extra effort of my contractor).

Interesting. That’s what mine is. I wonder if the HD/LF door slab is significantly thicker. I emailed Eric at IsoDoor last night. Hopefully he has a solution.
I needed to provide a relief joint in the HRV ducting so as not to create a bridge between the inner and outer leaves. Folks that need extreme isolation frame a decoupled sleeve through the wall for their ventilation. My needs aren’t that great, so my solution was simple. Using a Dremel tool with a cut off wheel I sliced the installed ducting so that the two pieces were physically detached from one another.
I then sealed up the slice using good ol’ duct tape.
There was always going to be some isolation loss due to sound transmission going through the duct, as well as the transmission inside the duct in between the inner and outer leaves. This doesn’t solve that, but at least now there’s no physical bridge between the leaves.

Ignore the fact that my iPhone makes the reflection off the white trim look like a lens flare... I aimed all of the lights, and now it’s super moody in here. Not overly dark, not glaringly bright anywhere. Very soft feel. The blonde veneer of the treatments will brighten it up without adding point sources of light. This will work wonderfully. Being able to kill the lights above the performer will add to the mood if desired.
I think I forgot to post this picture previously. This is the hinge for the sound door. It’s MASSIVE, and yet it still swings very smoothly. The door is heavy and certainly requires a lot of force to move it, but not because of the hinge which is quite a marvel.
Picked up all of the base trim, door casing and quarter round. I’m only working two days next week and then I’m off for the proceeding five days. I’m going to use that time to install all of the trim. With a little luck it will all be installed and caulked ahead of the acoustic treatments which ship out on 11/20 and should be here to install around the first weekend of December.

Waiting for a response from my wife who's at home and is going to go measure the thickness of the door slab for me. Eric at IsoDoor sent me a link to this company that makes thick door extension kits, as well as a few Baldwin levers that are made to go through thicker doors. The extension kits are through this guy Ed's company: Invalid Link Removed. I emailed Ed this morning and he's already gotten back to me. I'd like to keep my existing Schlage kit, so as soon as I get the measurement from my wife I'll be responding to Ed's email and will get a kit ordered.
Just got confirmation that all of my switch plate and outlet covers are on their way to me. Such a small piece of the puzzle, but one I’m oddly excited about. It’s a finishing touches item, so I’m probably just excited because it feels like the end is nigh 
Vendors often tease you with an email saying that your package has shipped when only the label has been generated. Out the door is much better.

Maybe you said it somewhere way back... But can you remind me why you went with such dark colors for the walls and ceiling? Doesn't that make the space seem smaller (in comparison to going with lighter colors)?

Yep, it was covered way back. I hate studios with no mood, vibe, etc. So many places paint their rooms a boring shade of beige or gray, and then maybe slap a red accent wall up to break it up. Yuck. Boring. My space with its two dark tones separated by white molding is definitely different than any studio I've ever seen. Add to that the light colored floor, and the yet to be installed white base trim it will get even cooler still once it's all revealed. Lastly, I've got a ton of acoustic treatments headed my way that all have a blonde wood veneer (light maple colored) that will cover a large portion of the walls and ceiling. The paint colors, light fixtures and outlet covers may be dark, but they'll be surrounded by light flooring, light trim (top and bottom), a light door and light acoustic treatments. It should be very dramatic and not feel overly dark when all is said and done.
It's funny you mention it because as I was reading I was dreading getting to the end of the thread and the studio not being completed, or worse not being able to be completed. It would have been like binge watching a show, getting to the last episode of a season and finding out the show was canceled.Yes, we have been very patient.
The good thing is that it really looks like this thing will be done "soon"!
