Aye, and replace all the basses with walkie talkies in post.

Very little. Both of my nearest neighbors have parking in the rear, and then their yards are on the other side of their homes and the alley from mine. They won't hear a peep in their yards. The next two closest are far enough away that in their backyards they'll hear a faint amount of noise that will get drowned out anytime a bird calls, a dog barks, someone fires up a lawn mower, etc.Nice work silky.
The ultimate test will be: what can your neighbors hear from their yard when you have a whole band in there?
I did the same a year and a half ago, although my 18' cube is brick. A dozen 4" bats of rock wool as corner traps , 4 packs of floppy insulation in a frame above the drums and a couple dozen sheets of felt out of recycled mattresses and I'm down to 1 resonant peak!We could turn this into a a sort of agony aunt corner with silky, which would be perfect as we just signed into a rehearsal space which we’ll use for recording. It’s a big, concrete cube.![]()

Thanks!Congrats! Epic achievement! Epic thread!
(I’m overlooking the setbacks.)

This sucks... At least your studio is soundproof and your neighbors can't hear you say unspeakable thingsThe Good:
I did the last remaining caulking on the baffle box. It's done. Studio construction is done. There's nothing more to do for the studio itself. I still need to button-up the hardscaping out front and get some plants in the ground to dress it up, but that's it. There's a blank spot on the wall in front of my desk where I think I'll hang a piece of art, but none of that feels like studio construction anymore. More like decorating. Finish line crossed. Marathon completed.

The Bad:
I got my ADAM Sub8 back from Sweetwater. The repair notes said that they replaced the entire ICE module (i.e. the power amp). It arrives, it powers up, which it wasn't doing before, it runs the satellites, but it doesn't generate any sound of its own. Back in the box it goes. I get a new return label from Sweetwater and ship it off telling them to "try again."
My interfaces are now periodically back to doing the audio drop-outs thing, just less frequently than before. Any amount of drop-outs are unacceptable, especially at this prosumer price point.
A custom pedal I had built by a reputable builder has gone to and from his shop and my place three different times and he finally said that he can't figure out the problem and is refunding my money.
Evidently this is the month for gear to not work properly now that the studio is done. So even though all of the work is finished, I can't do any actual work in the space just yet. Oh well. I need a break anyway.![]()

Not terribly. I'm leaving the manufacturer and details out of the conversation because they really did everything they could to make it right and I don't fault them. Was it a complicated pedal you ordered?
That's the best decision... Was just wondering. I've had similar issues but with random manufactures so guess seems random to me.Not terribly. I'm leaving the manufacturer and details out of the conversation because they really did everything they could to make it right and I don't fault them.
Holy Christmas; we follow this mega thread for 4yrs and you throw a plot twist on us at the finale?!?!?! When will it end?!?!Thanks!
I’m also overlooking the setbacks. They’re not construction-related and only cost time in waiting for their repair and return.
I’ve got another fun surprise in store for the thread next week. Some packages arriving tomorrow that I’ll get to on Sunday. An unexpected turn in the use of the space. More to come...![]()

Oh the humanity!
Seven boxes showed up on a UPS truck yesterday...When will it end?!?!

Why tease us like this it's just mean spirited.Seven boxes showed up on a UPS truck yesterday...
I could show you some pictures of cardboard boxes, but that would be it since I haven’t even opened them yet. My camping trip tomorrow got cancelled due to bad weather, so I’m going to try and get everything opened up and built/installed/setup/assembled tomorrow. <- intentional verb stacking vagueness since this has gotten built up with some serious hype that it will never live up to, hahaWhy tease us like this it's just mean spirited.
