I was hoping the fire blocking wouldn’t be an issue. Damn.

Fire blocking is easy to bash out with a framing hammer. It’s just a 14 1/2” long 2x6 held in place by a couple of toe nails on each end.
I was hoping for an obvious solution to reveal itself, but...Looks like I’m buying an 8’ long 2x6 tomorrow, setting up my chop saw, removing two bay’s worth of insulation, busting out a piece of fire blocking, using a jig saw to notch out for the already installed electrical, toe nailing and sistering one stud to another, mounting the wall bracket, reattaching the fire blocking, replacing the insulation, and... I don’t know... crying a little

Had to use my jigsaw to cut slots for the electrical.
4x6 sister is in place. I wanted to use a 2x6, but the spacing for the lag screw would have put it too close to the edge of the board for my liking. This left plenty of meat for the screw to bite into.
The wall bracket would not accommodate the condenser unit’s feet, so I made some tweaks. It’s rock solid now.
The unit requires 12” clear space behind it for proper functionality, but LG has stated that if it’s elevated and clear underneath that the rear clearance can go down to 6”. I’ve got about 9”, so it should work great.

One of the nuts for the feet had marred threads so I’ll need to replace it, but for now three of the feet are locked down and it’s quite stable.
Despite the lockdown to the frame and the frame fixed to the building, do you have any concerns about the assembly vibrating on the wall?
There are large rubber gaskets/stoppers between the condenser and the bracket, as well as between the bracket and the wall. It should be fine. I can always add additional isolation measures if it’s needed.
I know it’s been a slow and tough graft over the last few months but I feel this has been a massive step forward this past week and a bit.
I’m still in awe that I found this thread late 2017 and you were shifting tons of particular types of gravel in 2015 while battling nonsense with the council and here it is so far. If I’m ever in Seattle...!!

Thanks! Definitely a lot of recent progress. Now with the lid finished I feel like the pace will only continue to increase.
I've read 93 pages of studio build.
To me this project has taken way too long to complete. Three years and counting. IMHO, money spent on distractions could been spent on hired help and the project might of been finished. Additionly we might of had 60 pages.

I agree that it’s taken too long, but things like overall financing, permit hang-ups, and attempting to have a life outside of construction all delay things. Hiring it out would have been faster, but. not cheaper. Not by a long shot.
Money spent on distractions is a bit condescending. What constitutes a distraction?
This is the least helpful, most pointlessly rude post I’ve ever seen on TalkBass.
Who would come in and say something like this? It’s his project on his time, done with his own hands. You can do yours exactly as you’d like.
The permitting process and it's delays are a fact of life,
As you quoted, I have read 93 pages and also stated, maybe 60 pages are relevant. What makes up the 23 pages, are distractions and in my opinion are not relevant to the thread.
I personally am not interested in your "vacation" pictures.
It's been my experience when you build by your self, 40 to 50 of your time is wasted. Two people doing a task, are three times as efficient as one person.
Imo, if you had hired a helper, you would have been done a year ago, and the use of the studio would have become a distraction in a good way,
