i use a 4x10 and a 15 stack, and i have the 15 on the bottom
sure, I know about the volume difference, thats fine with me
I play on a lot of small stages, i like to have my cab as close to my ear as possible
i mostly use a 4 string, but i will pull out the 5 a couple of times a night
the 15 helps out with bottom for the 5 and also provides a solid base for the 4x10

even if i were to have two 4x10's, i would probably be hearing about 85% from the top can anyway.

If this image worked, those are my cabs... and one of my cats Sterling. I've since had to move them out of my living room because apparently my wife doesn't like looking at bass cabs nearly as much as I do.

Is nothing sterile about a good 15.

Blue rats fur (no disrespect peavey) or whatever its about the sound.

Current university studies show that some 15s have frequency range 40hz - 18khz without a horn. Simple then. Modern 15s now have the same range as 4x10 but need less power......and its got a bigger cone.

There is a flaw in your thinking.....................

A single 15 only moves the around the same of air as a 2X10.

Yeah, it's a bigger cone - but FAR less then four tens combined.

I'm all for 10's and 15's. Great price point too, 250 for the pair; I would of snagged them in a second.

I personally use a 2x15(sunn) or a 2x10(gk) situation depending. The 10's sound tighter and lower than my sunn's 15's do; however my friends cant hear the 2x10 from down the street like they can the 2x15 at similar volume levels. Something about 15's just shakes your chest. I'm also for stacking the 15 on top of the 4x10.

All of this is IMO/IME/and all that.

Agrees. The new SpencerCat amp, if plugged in correctly, is purfect proof that 4x10s should be on top.
