My newest Sadowsky 4568!

Nice. I really like that Lakland also.

On a side note (regarding the Lakland picture)...Is it me, or is Jauqo III-x becoming the Zelig of the bass world:hiding:

No not at all,Dan Lakin is a friend of mine and he makes a great instrument(and I had nothing to do with my pic being in that Lakland thread).

If any one needs to know,I play what ever Bass I choose but my main Basses are Adler,Lakland and Wilkins.and yes I own several other brands as well just like most other tb members and I choose to apply these tools as they are needed.

I meant it as a compliment:) You seem to be everywhere these days!

REALLY Dig this Bob Glaub Limited! It is pretty aggressive sounding (I know Mr. Bowlus also has one and he might want to chime in here!!!:p ) I am hoping that the Sadowsky will give me a little more of a traditional P type tone.

Believe it or not, the DPLE II is my first "P-Bass", so I don't have the same point of reference, but to me, it is THE most growly thing I have ever played! And this equates to the kinda tone that just makes you want to turn up! :bassist::bassist::bassist: It is, to my ears, a rather unique sounding bass, and I am sure that I will love it for many types of music, but definitely not for all. On my end of things, I am looking forward to comparing it to my new P/J 5, which I hope to have sometime this week. :hyper:

Tom, what is a 'DPLEII?

It's a Dude Pit Limited Edition Bob Glaub with a Dark Star PUP....

DPLEII - is the second limited edition that Dude has done so he gave it the II moniker....Only 30 of these made!!
Basically a Bob Glaub with a 1.5" J neck and a VERY thin neck profile like the JO, SWEET Block inlays and binding, and the knarliest PUP I have heard! The Dark Star allows you to raise or lower the level on EACH individual string and gives a LOT of response variation just by increasing your attack! Very even tonally and responsive is an understatement. I can see these actually selling for more than we paid in the not too distant future!!

TomB hit the nail on the head....I also consider it the growliest bass I have played in a long time!!!

Hope that helps!

Peace,

T

Very cool. I've never heard a Lakland with the Darkstar installed... sounds pretty cool!

Congrats again on the beautiful P Bass!
