I did. I remember really liking it, but didn't absolutely love it, and it was pretty expensive so I felt the cost/benefit ratio wasn't what I was looking for.
I've never tried this, but also not quite sure I understand what you are trying to do. Can you elaborate on what you mean? Thx!

The Noble, and it isn't even close.
I liked the Colourbox for bass but I didn't love it. I didn't find the HPF useful at all, and I would have liked the treble to have a wider range. I really dug the OD tho, and the bass and nid EQ are top notch.
I have only tried a few, but at that price you are more in the studio outboard gear territory--if you are talking preamp only. I have tried the Noble, Arkham (both Oracle and Zephyr) and Universal Audio (SOLO/610). They all are great, but I prefer the products from Arkham right now for bass preamps. I want to try the Universal Audio LA-610 or 6176 one day.
In my studio space, I have my Zephyr going right to my outboard preamp and compressors to my monitors. My Oracle is on my pedalboard that goes to pedalboard compressor and ultimately to my speaker cabinets.
I've been looking to get a capo for a while now. Might take the desperate step to actually order one with the 8 weeks wait.
I keep waiting for one to pop up on Reverb from within the US. I thought they had US vendors??
I got mine here, they had it in stock but no longer do. It was cheaper than buying from Jad Freer on Reverb because of no sales tax.

i actually dont like the overdrive on it, but do like the hpf. if you use it with the bass knob, its fine
I feared you might say that. No inspiration here. The Noble sits on the top of my hill, too.
Luckily in my buddies studio I've tried Reddi, BP1, & Noble haven't had enough time to tell you which one I preferred. But his favorite is Reddi. Personally I could live with anyone of them but only the Noble is fitting on pedalboard. But it's not going everywhere with me if I owned one.
Okay preamp Guru's 3 preamps that has really peaked my interest can you guys give me pros and cons of each. But I should say I really enjoy my Genzler Magellan Pre-amp and Messenger Jr. Both are transparent versatile preamps. Albeit the Magellan Contour switch can add some color and the Messenger Jr. With both HPF/LPF is more tweakable. The bottom 2 are at the top of my willingness to spend price range.

1. Very versatile pedal, lots of function in that box. I would have wished the Lows EQ to sit a little higher than at 40Hz. The red knob adds something that's hard to describe until you push it too far and it becomes distorted.
2. The one big fail on this one is the always on cab sim on the XLR out that sounds ....very special. You gotta have a taste for tweeterless vintage 15" cabs. Other than that, it can do a huge and warm bottom end and has very nice tasteful treble. The vintage Fender amps have a certain lack of midrange control, so does the Origin.
It is a massive hunk of steel. I would not hesitate to smash in a car windshield in an emergency and I would absolutely expect it to work afterwards, not even a dent.
The drive sound is something special, too. Very white collar. When you crank it, it absolutely gets into synth territory.
3. Top of my list, too - so no personal experience.

I have SBM nice tone sweetener that has caused my interest in its big brother.
I've don't ever remember playing a Fender bass amp. But I've know about so many recordings of songs that I dig were it was used has me Intrested on what I may be missing out on

1) Well, I just sold mine. I liked the simplicity and the fact that it did add a "little" something, but I didn't like the fact that it was hard to distort (and I didn't really care for the distortion). It has three essentials in one pedal - LPF, HPF, sweepable mids. However, if I were to look for something similar in the future i'd either go with an RFE or Messenger, both much cheaper and readily available. Most ppl that try the S1 and the Messenger don't hear that much of a difference (if at all) and i prefer the OD on the Messenger.
2) Like @el murdoque said, it's vintage tone all the way. Thick, juicy, sweet, powerful vintage tone to be sure, but it won't sound modern. Definitely one of the best vintage pre's out there though.And I LOVE me a Fender tone stack. I'm a huge fan, and it's one of the preamps that made the cut for me and I plan on keeping around.
3) It's getting further up on my list to try!

Full size Messenger or JR? I've never really tried to get the Jr to distort.
Would you consider RFE>Studio One redundant? Because that was my potential plan for my big board.
Either Messenger works, but you need a boost.and I wouldn't consider the RFE redundant as I use it .ore for an EQ and resonance than just for the filters. On my big board I still have the RFE plus and HPF/LPF and a separate parametric EQ.
