I know one guy who is...Kim Nekroman of Nekromantix. He slaps upright and wants the slap to be the loudest and most piercing thing on the stage, so he doesn't like tweeterless cabs. Or tube amps.

I just did a show at the Musical instrument Museum theater in Phoenix. Really nice venue... I requested an ampeg or GK . .The reason , is that they are always the most consistently available and familiar to set up . What did i get instead? An Eden 800 and an Eden 410. I was surprised how good it sounded. I was very pleased. I forgot how great the Eden 800 amp sounded..
I wish I knew - I live in the area. Which group did you play with?

The American Idol guy casey James.. Great room. fantastic acoustics .. Meyer PA and monitors..
But I did a show earlier today with another un named artist in TX.. No rider on this gig.. This one is a low budget gig.. Didn't get what i wanted at all. I got an Old SWR 215.... I made it work though... They had a very nice modern JBL PA.. but bargain basement backline.. ughhh

But seriously, I must apologize to all the thread readers for not doing due diligence on my fly gigs and posting what I've gotten lately. But the truth is almost all of my fly gigs this year have been gigs where I've been before, and I was thinking it was getting a tad boring to see the same rigs over and over. I do, however, wish I'd have taken a pic of the rig I used on my Alaska cruise 2 months ago. That was pretty unique...an SVT 4 Pro and a B410hlf. They guy who supplied the gear also supplied the SVT 4 Pro and 810e I used in Sandpoint, Idaho, and he offered to take the 810e, but I felt guilty about putting him through it until he told me the only 410 he had was an Eden, and I do not like Eden gear at all. Then I asked him to bring the 810e but did express my sympathy
Naturally, he scrambled to find an Ampeg 410 for me, and came up with the B410hlf. It was not bad, not as good as the top of the line cabs, but decent. Since I don't have a picture of the exact rig, here's a couple stock photos:
Also brought my VT Deluxe because I needed both overdrive and fuzz, a Mooer Tender Octaver, and my Line 6 G70. Kind of unhappy with the Mooer. Sounds a lot like the EHX Micro Pog, but seems to have more latency.

What vintage songs would you typically use the Octaver on? If you ever get a chance, check out an Eventide H9 Max (H9 | Eventide). The sounds out of that pedal are nothing short of amazing.
The entertainment sounds a lot more exciting than the Alaskan cruise I went on last year.
Mostly I use the high digital octaves for parts where the bass and guitar double each other but our only guitar player is doing something else, such as "Don't You Care" by The Buckinghams. I also use it on some songs where our keyboard player has developed this annoying habit of stopping playing keyboards and coming out to front songs because Steve Walsh from Kansas does it. A little goes a long way but he's trying to do it on every song he sings
Usually I use an EHX Pitch Fork, though, which is much better. The Mooer is smaller and doesn't require an isolated power supply, so I've been trying to make it work on fly gigs. Low octave is mostly for Hollywood endings, and I usually use the OC-2 exclusively for that unless I'm flying, although I do slip it in sometimes for occasional songs from the 70's that I think could benefit from having a little synth bass tone.

The Buckinghams were way ahead of their time, influencing many bands such as Chicago, Blood Sweat & Tears, etc. Their songs have really come back around. Kind of a Drag is another example of a superbly crafted and produced song.

You think that they are playing with tapes, especially when the guitar plays stops playing and the band's sound continues to be so full. But it's all him sounding like a guitar and holding down the thick rhythm of the songs.

That's an old school backline nowadays, but it was very popular 15 to 20 years ago. I was TB's resident Eden pimp for several years back in the day.
It's still one of the go-to brands for backline companies.
I've been supplied Eden gear for backline before. As usual I didn't really have any time to dial it in before we had to jump on stage and play, but I remember liking it just fine.
I don't. Eden gear always seems to have what I call a "boing" factor
Just doesn't appeal to me. I did like the old Nemesis stuff, though.
