why didn't I have school projects where i needed to get a multitude of basses...
I'd get something with a humbucker just for variety, musicman copy or some such.

dude, I had to do the same project 2 years ago!
except I did it with amps.
ended up buying a Carvin stack as a result of that paper

A (semi-hollow - optional) with soapbars / humbuckers.

You should get something with humbuckers (since you already have soapbars and single coils). Are you actually buying a new one?
