The pencil mark says 24991AM which I'm assuming corresponds with the date stamp that shows Sep 24 1991. I would guess the AM means it was built 1st shift maybe??
Wow, super interesting! That’s by far the earliest mim jazz bass I’ve seen and disproves my theory that jazz production didn’t start until later. I notice the serial number also says “MN1” in larger font type before the serial number. Some have that while others like mine just say MN with a space before the serial number. It’s a small point but it makes me wonder. Thanks for posting!
