Mystery ampeg? 215.

Well I'm starting to think the cab is an ampeg v6b, with half assed after market speakers. View attachment 462208(that's an after market grill obviously) probably gonna sell the celestion since it's going to be super hard to find a match, and research some nicer ones to put in that'll handle my sunn coliseum head.

ThreeFingers, is this your picture? Because I randomly clicked on this thread and it turns out I own the SVT in that picture. I remember when I bought it on the classifieds this is the picture the guy took of it, on top of that 215 cab. Talk about Deja ****ing vu!

So, the amp sounds beautiful when paired with the 410, but really farty if its the sole cabinet. I'm guessing too much wattage for those drivers, if i rewire the drivers to run in series rather than parallel, would that likely fix the problem? Or am i doomed to always having to pair this with something else?

I have the same cabinet with factory optioned Altec Lansing 421-A. You may want to roll back a little bit of the low end, as these cabinets are designed to work with the V6-B (which didn't have an ultra lo switch). So it can get farty if run at the 4 ohm side of the switch. Since it is a 4 ohm and 16 ohm option try the 16 ohm setting if you use it as a stand-alone. The cabinet provides a good amount of low end. The speakers you have may bee a little dry or tired since they're older.

Hi,
I would like to know if still have this bass cab and if you are selling it and for how much. If you can, could you possibly send me some close up or zoomable images of your mystery amp. Back, front and side, and baffle.I think your right about it being an ampeg V-6B 2x15" bass cabinet. I have one and have been looking for a pair up.

Thank you for your time
