I'm gonna go with "parts Jazz that somebody slapped a decal on."
That E string tuner. ... oof. Also, I don't know if it's the angle or just me, but also the neck plate ...
No serial number, no, county of manufacture, the neck doesn't looks like it goes with that bass, among other issues.

the pups and preamp might be from a jazz deluxe, if the seller says that they have been upgraded. Other parts of the body say otherwise, and that neck either doesn't belong to that bass or it's been put back on very poorly. Hard to tell for sure from the pics.
As others noted: fake decal! Fender never - to my best knowledge - offered a Jazz with a 70s neck with block inlays and binding combined with a 60s decal. The decal would be a TV logo or the slightly smaller TV logo of the late 70s.
Blocks and binding with a 60s decal was a thing for a couple years starting in ‘66.

To the OP:That’s a parts bass with a fake decal. $600 might be ok if it plays and sounds good and it’s in decent shape.
Edit: what I mean by “parts bass” is that it’s doubtful that there are any Fender made parts on that bass. Looks like an All Parts concoction to me.

Agreed. The tuners are misaligned too...which is unusual for legit Fenders in my experience.

True. Also the control plate, knobs, and strap buttons might be Fender.

But hey, if you like it, that’s all that matters. All 3 of my Jazz bass are Partcasters or modified a bit.
I bought an All-Parts ebony fretless neck that had a Fender decal on it that I’m still using. I’m ok with it, but if I ever sell it or the whole bass, I’ll be upfront about it.

I did find the hootenanny button on the back of the headstock to be an interesting addition however.
Could be a decent player. But $600 would be at the absolute top of my price range assuming it played exceptionally well and sounded really (as in really really really) good. And I’d definitely try to negotiate it down at least a hundred.
And, as others have already pointed out, it definitely needs a thorough cleaning. That alone speaks volumes about how well taken care of this bass was - and also raises the possibility there’s some issues with it that aren’t immediately noticeable. So caveat emptor. Having “Mojo” is one thing. But you gotta draw the line somewhere.

It honestly looks alright IMO, I'd certainly consider it. Not sure about $600, but I'm continuously on a budget.
The guy says he's gonna pop the neck and see if there is a date stamped on it, if it does happen to be a real Fender Jazz neck would it be worth $600 then ? and as far as the Fender decal how do you tell if it was added, you could feel the decal as opposed to having lacquer or whatever they use over it ?
