NAD: I went back home

Back in the day, I was all about my GK 800RB. I played it thru an SWR Goliath 410 and it was a beast. When I hit my late 30s, I decided to find a lighter option. So I’ve spent the last decade playing Aguilar. But I have genuinely missed the punch of a good 410. So I’m selling my sweet Aguilar rig to go back to my roots. I must say, I am not disappointed.

This is the GK Legacy 800 head with their 4 ohm 410 Neo cab. It kicks!!

i'm also a big fan of GK and recently picked up the Legacy 800 head. Mine is paired with a GK Neo 212 (8 ohm). There is some special sauce inside that head. I am impressed with the tone coming out of that thing whenever I play through it. Great amp.

Yeah, I really dig it. There are a few switches that I have no need for. But the sound is baked in. So great.

Miss the amp - not the cab.
Ran the GK w/an 4x12 ampeg cab.

Been toying with the idea of getting the legacy w/ the Venture 212 as a "tribute" rig...

I went full old school recently. Sold my Fuchs head, put my GK MB500 on backup duty and went back to this - found at a local GC purely by accident. I love GK RB heads paired with my 20+ year old Aguilar GS212 cabinet. Haven't found anything modern that compares.

Yes! The 1001RB is such a sweet bass amp head, too.

Yes... but I have two heads that I adore and sometimes I'll use each for at least a set at the same show, since they fit together in the same little backpack.

One is a GK MB 500 and the other is a Genz Benz Shuttle 6.0. Both sound wonderful for me in their own way and as I go from one gig to the next, they still seem to top each other. In terms of amps, I'm in a very good place.

GK kicks butts, I love my legacy 500 which is all the power I need.

I usually use the bar/club backline but after 5 yeasr owning it I finally could gig my full personal stack last month :

(Barefaced Super Midget 1x12)...it was glorious!
