Naked Strings wants your input.... what's next?

Hello fellow Low Enders!

I'm the Product Manager for Naked Strings (Invalid Link Removed). We make and sell high end bass strings directly to consumers. I have been in communication with a lot of players through this forum. So far, all of our strings have been Nickel roundwound over a hex core but we've received a lot of requests for Stainless Steel, Tapered B & E and Flatwounds. Well we are finally caught up on current orders and inventory and we're now ready to expand our line. So, I decided to let you guys (and gals) tell us what you want through the posted poll. Thanks in advance for your input!

To me, the most logical next step would be stainless strings. Personally, after that, I'd go with the tapered options then the flatwounds, but I know opinions will widely vary. I'm just trying to think about which options would have the most demand.

Just wish there was a tension indication along with the gauge. A table somewhere in html/pdf would do if you don't want to add it to the Flash ordering.

You guys should also consider selling single strings.

Also when ordering a 5 string set, the price says '$29 for two sets, get one free'..is that price for 3 sets total, or does that mean 'buy one set get one free' and you get two sets total? Or am I confused?

I think that means $29 for 3 sets total. Or at least that was my understanding...

Yes... three 5 string sets for $29.99 (plus $5 shipping). Darn Sales people had to get all fancy with the pricing. But i do think it's a good deal. Thanks.

I'm in on stainless then flats, but I'm no expert on strings. I like bright strings like RS66 for most everything and deep mellow flats for my fretless.

IMO the best move would be to allow more customizing of the string sets you already make, rather than making new types of strings. For example:
--A range of available diameters in each set
--Tapered/non-tapered ball ends
--Short, medium, and extra-long scale
--Lengths to fit 4+1, 3+2, 2+2, etc. headstock layouts
--Single strings
--Uncommon options like a 30" scale 5-string set, or 36" scale 4-string set

All of these things will increase your customer base, and the amount people talk about your brand, with hardly any new R&D, and no need to convince people that your stainless or flats are better than brand X or Y's stainless and flats.

I prefer singles to sets but that would be awesome! Dunno if there are any mass produced 5 string shorties but I'm GASin' after one tuned EADGC (darn you Mike Dimin ). I'd really like a .115 "E" though .

I would love flatwounds that are even brighter than Chromes. I love flatwounds but sometimes you just need that extra bite. Perhaps exposed core flatwounds?

I have a question. When you mean "simple packaging" on your website does that mean you just ship the strings in an envelope?

I'm sorry I have to ask. It's just that my mind's eye just sees me ordering 5 sets of envelopes with nothing to prevent the strings from corroding.

I'll chime in on super bright flatwounds. Flats are what I dig on my P basses but I just want more snap and chime from them. (Nature of the beast, I know...)

All strings ship together in a sealed, padded "air jacket" that is moisture resistant. We have shipped hundreds of orders now with zero returns due to damage or corrosion.
