What song did you first hear, then see the sheet music (unless you learned by ear), and said 'I will never play and memorize this song, it looks way too difficult.'

But eventually you did, and you played it in a band setting (which is a whole different animal than playing to an mp3 by yourself).

Name that song.

Mine was Subdivisions, including all the synthesizer parts. Took a long while to get fast and accurate enough to switch back and forth during the song while we played together live.

Other notables are Cygnus X-1, Camera Eye and La Villa Strangiato.

I'm embarrassed to admit this, but master of puppets gave me a hard time when i first started playing. Fast forward a decade and now i can play that song with my genitalia, similar to how William Murderface plays hehe.

Okay maybe i cant play with my junk, but its a super easy song to play now.

back in high school it was the Warning by Black Sabbath.
I thought that was the pinnacle of bass, and if I could ever learn how to play it correctly, then I would consider myself cool.
It took years to get it down, and the first time I played it in a band at a backyard party, all the long hair dudes were awestruck. I had attained cool.
