What?! Marketing demographic? Maybe in the Yardbirds... Muddy would have said that? You don't know much about music in the sixties (or fifties) or Eric Clapton do you? The "Beano" album, on which he used the Dallas Rangemaster was a real straightlaced blues album. If you'd ever heard it you'd know it wasn't about drugs. Mid sixties =/= late sixties. Besides, Muddy probably sold as many albums as "Beano" did. I highly doubt he had any reprobation to deliver Clapton at that point in history.

right now i like and currently use
fender mim jazz into fuzz factory then into an arion tuner, then digitech whammy, into a big muff pi, to digitech synth-wah, ending with a wha pedal into a fender sidekick 35 bass amp.
its what i use for home and it gets quite loud

I'd have to say the ultimate pedal on my board is my boss GE-7 equalizer as it can really open up my overall tone and effects
the Tech21 VT pedal is giving me all the tones i want,and it works well regardless of the amp (s) i have tried it with. my main rig is a markbass cmd121p 1-12 combo,with an avatar 1-12 extension cabinet,but i also regularly play through a 1-15 swr combo,and a funky old peavey 1-15 with black widow speaker,and it sounds like i am playing through a gritty warm tube amp with all of them. (the markbass retains the most clarity,and has way more power and punch than the other 2-altho the peavey kicks!)
This is the perfect storm I was able to witness with my rig & pedalboard...
USA P Bass (Volume Dimed, Tone Set back a bit)--->
Older Trapezoid QTron (LP mode, Lo Range, Gain set below the 2nd line, Peak set around the 4th, Drive off, Norm-Boost on)--->
90's RAT II (Distortion @ 1/4, Filter @ 3/4 & Volume Dimed)--->
VT Bass somewhere around the recommended SVT Settings but the Mids were bumped a little more--->
"Power Amp In Jack" on the back of my Sunn Concert Bass--->
Some Homemade 2X15 @ the practice space.
This combo unlocked something I had no idea existed within my gear. Felt like a god for $15/hr.
Even though I remember quite clearly how everything was set (b/c I couldn't believe my ears), don't ask me to try and cop this tone again. I've come to the conclusion that the Cabinet had a lot more to do with it than I thought.
Every so often I'd pop on my OC-2 & Chorus but the other pedals were the meat & potatoes of this awesomely funky sound.

I just got a 1977 Grabber. That into my OCD is amazing. I just can't wait for my 800 RB to be fixed.
