Sadly, those were really the only bass brands there. This NAMM was very very small compared to the previous years.
nice looking stuff in there though. A few wicks that even I liked the look of. Looks like it was a good time regardless.
I was there taking pictures for Bass Gear and just got home. It was not a great show for basses, but there we're some good moments. Shared some scotch with Tombowlus, Vic, and Michael Tobias on Friday night, shared some drinks with Dave Funk Saturday night. Caught Adam Nitti twice once in his own band killing with Keith Carlock in a tiny club, and once backing an "all star" guitar band on Saturday. Adam is a consummate pro. Had my draw drop watching Doug Johns on Friday, every bassist should catch this guys show once. As far as the show, Warwick had the most new product at the Show. Fender and Gibson didn't even show and TC dropped out at the last minute. Orange had some interesting amps. But the best stuff wasn't happening on the show floor, that's for sure.
Wish I could've met you guys. There's always next year! I saw Adam at the All-star guitar band sturday as well. Very good show! but where was Billy Sheehan? He was supposed to play.
That's too bad. I was looking foward all day for that. My bands sponser is trying to get us to play the pre-show in anaheim. So hopefully it works out,
