Nashville music stores

The Low End is going to have a huge selection of boutique stuff.

Corner music didn't have any Spectors or Rics last time I was in there a couple of weeks ago.

Ok, don't flame me, but the Guitar Center in Nashville has a massive collection of basses. Don't think that the basses hanging on the wall in the corner of the store is all they have. Check the used area just outside the acoustic room as well as the "Platnium Room" where you can paw a number of Custom Shop basses and some very nice Music Man's.

I've heard about Gruhn's Guitars in a Guitar Aficionado magazine, not sure if he carries basses but it'd be worth a try I suppose.

400 Broadway Nashville, TN 37203
(615) 256-2033

Google'd:D

I go to Gruhn's every once in a while, and they do always have basses, usually high end and vintage stuff. Never seen any Rics or Spectors there, but you never know what you're going to find in there.

Corner Music would be my first choice. Then Gruhn then Low End.

Best time for a trip is July 12-14 Summer NAMM. The 14th is public day.

You won't find many Spectors in the area. Jaymi owns them all. ;-)

Not a real popular country bass, although the "shorty" was designed for Garry Tallent when he was still in Nashville and with a good set of flats is very Dano like.

Gruhn....eh.....

Gruhn does not focus on basses. Outside of a handful of older Fenders (maybe 5-6) and some dramatically overpriced newer stuff ($800 used Warwick Corvette anyone?) There's really nothing to see. Their bass selection can be seen in about 60 seconds. If you want to play one, you will play it through a guitar amp and at volumes unfriendly to hearing any sort of tone.

+1 on Gruhn having a small selection bass-wise... but they do have some cool unusual stuff from time to time (they are pricey though).

You can check out Gruhn's offerings online without even going to the store.

The Low End & Corner Music are your best bets (other than Jaymi, of course ;)).
