Nate Navarro Bass Book

Hello Nate,
I just got your Bass Book as a birthday gift. Sadly I have got issues to download the files. The download link always gets blocked because of malware risks. (I am living in Germany.)
Could you please send me the files in another way?
Thank you a lot! I am really looking forward to learn all the things in your book :)
Happy belated Birthday, Marcus! So sorry to hear about the issue. Would you please DM me your email address? I'll get the files to you asap. All my best, Nate.

Hey Nate,

Love the videos! Was wondering if you’re still planning on releasing a five-string version of the book, and if so, roughly when do you think it might be out? I searched for it a bit but couldn’t find much, just am curious. Thanks!

Hey Jordan, Much appreciated! I am still working on the 5-String book, but it is taking longer than planned due to touring opening up again. Current ETA is Spring 2023. Thanks for the interest. :)

Hey Nate! I just got your book and I have to say that it is very impressive all the material you have collected (song, tabs, exercises). Congrats! I'm looking forward to see you with Porcupine Tree on October here in Mexico City.

Hey I'm having an issue with the link on the book to dowload the supplemental content. I have been practicing along with the videos and I just noticed that I'm not able to dowload the files, the link "Warning! | There might be a problem with the requested link" gives me a "warning". Could you please help me out?

Hey, Oscar! Dang, sorry to hear about the issue. Can you DM me your email address? I'll get things sorted asap.
Thanks for your kind words. I'm very much looking forward to the tour and being back in Mexico.
All my best,
Nate

Hey Nate, just received my copy of your book. Really helpful so far. However, the URL to download the backing tracks and stuff doesn't seem to be working for me (keeps getting flagged for malware).
Is there any other way I can access these files?
Any help is appreciated, thanks!

Hey Joshua, thanks so much for picking up my book! I'm sorry to hear about the issue... I'm not sure why that's been happening as of late. Would you please DM me your email? I'll get the files to you asap. :)

Hi Nate,

Just bought the book and looking forward to getting stuck into it. I have had it open in my browser for ages and hadn't bought it, but I keep buying gear. The reality is that gear won't improve my playing. I read this thread and thought, yeah screw it, time to buy the book. Excited to give it a go!

@nnavarro your bit.ly link that you refer to in your book no longer seems to be working due to "harmful content". I'll also DM you my email
Thanks, Jono! Much appreciated. I'll reach out over email momentarily.
The bit.ly link looks to be the cause of all the trouble. I'll have that fixed shortly... print-on-demand for the win.

UPDATE: I heard from Bitly that my shortened link had been falsely reported as "abusive." Guys, don't slap your bass too hard now. The download link listed in books printed before June 17, 2022 should be working in the next couple of days. Books printed June 17, 2022 and later will have a new link, directly to the host site of the material. As always, let me know if I can help with anything. :)

Hi,

re: right hand muting technique

I recently purchased the book to improve my bass playing (I play that other instrument with 6 strings…….) and have a couple questions; is the right hand string muting technique in effect when doing fast runs? Also, same right hand muting technique when doing fast string skipping say E to G?

cheers

Alex

ps. I caught Nathan at the PT concert in Toronto last weekend. GREAT show and musicianship.

I considered myself an experienced musician and even a bit of a good teacher. I studied the history of music and technique of the best bass players in our country for a long time. As a result of my research work, I have created papers https://edubirdie.com/cheap-research-papers that help students who are looking for help writing their research. But I think that you always need to improve your knowledge and now I bought several books, but I can’t agree with the authors on everything, so I wanted to ask for advice on this forum.

Hello, I'm a beginner now and just starting to learn, I'm wondering if it makes sense to try to improve my book technique? Especially if you are a beginner? Or is it better to immediately look for a teacher with whom to study all the questions that I have.

I finally got around to ordering a copy of this book a little while ago. It's arrived but the cat has claimed it...

If you carry on for more than a year or so, you’ll probably eventually want a teacher, so why not do it now so you don’t develop bad habits that you’ll have to undo?
