In all seriousness, I do like a nice natural chunk of wood, but with a little flavor, maybe a bit of a dark stain or even roasted body.

Wait a minute. Are we talking about Sashimi or basses?

Natural Ash basses are boring. Especially with a maple fretboard.
It's like eating unsalted soda crackers. Leaves you wishing there was some flavor to it.
I don't get the allure.

Well, that's just like, your opinion, man.
I despise black paint, so there!
"Oh, another black bass! How original, how outre, how radical! Henry Ford was right! Take my money now, it's got black paint!"

Agreed,but I like boring.:hyper:

Yours doesn't fit the OPs criteria because of the neck.
Besides, how could anything with tort be boring? :)

Then don't buy one. Next.
You sound offended,
but I'm pretty sure the OP's intension was not to call any of your babies ugly.
People come here to express their opinions which is their right,
you shouldn't take it personal.

Going for the knockout early eh!

Good One!!!

They're lazy as hell. Like, they just didn't feel like painting, so here you go, enjoy your wood scraps with strings.
Gargh.

Another Good One!!!

Dunno. I might have agreed until I was able to recently buy this closet queen “mutt” ‘75 P with ‘69 J neck off bandmate. Back of neck matches front due to aging. With ash discontinued by Fender, it’s even more appealing to me now.

From the Op's post I understood that they are all boring and even more boring if they have a maple fretboard.
However, the attempt to induce even more boredom in him failed, as he liked my post

Watching turtles is boring
