NBBD - They sent me the wrong bass!

    New Birthday Bass Day!

    Sooooo, I ordered a bass for my birthday; 65 this weekend (first person to call me a Senior Citizen gets a silver sneaker up their a$$). Everything seems okay, at first. I mean, you can see from the picture that it clearly says "Fender" on the box, right?

    But when I open it up, I find this inside! :wideyed:

    That's right, they sent me an MTD 535 instead! I'm outraged! Outraged, I say! I mean, I guess in hindsight this does explain why the bass was more expensive than I expected, but I figured it was because shipping has gotten so pricey lately. ;)

    And then I read the description and it gets even worse! Mahogany body, tiger myrtle top, maple neck with morado fingerboard, new proprietary MTD bridge, pickups, and preamp. Ugh!

    I guess I'll have to keep it.

    Seriously, it plays, sounds, and feels amazing! I'm pretty darn happy.

    Does that mean that someone who ordered a MTD got a Fender? I would assume that the seller might get an email and piece things together to see where the more expensive bass went.

    I’m glad you gave the warning about calling you a Senior Citizen. The last thing I’d want to do is upset the elderly.

    Huh, you had me for a minute or maybe more. That's a fine looking instrument.

    Maybe don't stand so close to your amp, the built-in fan makes it feel drafty. Happy birthday.

    Back in my day when someone ordered a bass over the internet we sent 'em what they dag-gum ordered. Not some five string contraption that needs a battery. Dang kids these days.

    I had to check the calendar to see if this was April 1.
    Looks very similar to my 535-24. Enjoy!
    The MTD boxes are pretty stellar, by the way.

    I would demand they send the original box assuming this is a new Bass. Resale is better if you have all the original packaging.

    They sent your Fender to my house instead of the MTD I ordered - let's arrange to swap and get everything sorted out! :woot:
