Thanks! As to the bridge, I really just like the feel and look better. I can't say for sure if it adds sustain or increases tuning stability. I palm mute a lot and it works well with my playing style.

I put an [allegedly] high mass bridge on my J. I don't really think it made a difference, but, like AN, I like the look better.

Also what does palm mute sound like on a bass? Maybe I'll start borrowing that technique...

Nice bass @AncientNoob , rock it proudly. Love my 50's MIM. The maple neck on yours looks sweet. Still have the stock bridge on mine but I did swap out the pickups for some Wilde (Bill Lawrence) P pickups. Gave me more volume, more color and a lot more even tone across the strings.
Did your dog like the new bass?

Lovely Lovely bass with exception of the pickguard.... the blue looks weird to me. It reminds me of the blue tempered glass beads in my propane fire pit.

TYVM! Actually, he doesn't care which bass I play, as long as I play. He doesn't really care for guitar, but when I'm playing bass, he'll hop up on the chair next to my cabinet and just lay down and watch me. I think he likes the vibes.

I'll have to do that. How high do you...um..."wear" your bass, I guess? I think, if my bass was slung a little low, palm muting would be a little tough on the wrist...

Around mid torso level. It sits nicely between my waist and chest. If I'm sitting with a strap it rests very lightly on my thigh, gives my right elbow and wrist nice comfortable bends.
