NBD! 2018 Gibson RD Artist!

Just arrived from a Reverb seller!
Giving her a little cleaning and my strings and going to play this beast all night!

It's a beauty! How is this one for weight? I played an earlier reissue (with the J PUPS) and it was a monster, definitely heavier than any T40 I've owned.

T40s being the weight standard for bass players officially of course.
IMHO, an RD will kill a T-40 on weight, on average, on any day of the week, all other things being equal, YMMV, etc. etc.. But my RD is at least a couple of pounds heavier than any of my T-40s - it's a real "shoulder-groover".

The last one I played was so heavy I took the Lord's name in vain. I bet it was 15lbs. Wondering about these newer guys because I really like them!

I put it on the scale, and it comes in at 13 lbs. Heavier than my Gibson Thunderbird, that's for sure. Using only a 2" Dunlop D3809BK strap, I was just fine this evening breaking in new strings for over an hour.
Strap good enough for Dave Grohl, good enough for me:
