I checked too while I was hunting for a push pull, they DO have concentric that look promising for other projectsI looked first thing!

I feel this, especially since there was a white 'Bird hanging in the LMS window the last time I was down there. I'm trying very hard to ignore it.I love these aesthetically. Ergonomically... not so much. I still get the urge sometimes - it'd look great down the folk club!![]()
It would be the Epiphone Thunderbird Pro IV for me. Natural oil finish and neck-through. That's the one that gets my GAS bubbling up!I feel this, especially since there was a white 'Bird hanging in the LMS window the last time I was down there. I'm trying very hard to ignore it.
Definitely good, per @godofthunder59 they are as good as the pickup in the actual vintage Tbirds, if not better.Very nice! I've wondered how good the pickups in those are. Would be an inexpensive way to scratch the Thunderbird itch
I’m looking to put a dark grey brushed steel look or gold anodizedJust needs a black pickguard with the gold logo or gold pickguard with black logo. Theirs a seller on reverb that sells them for $40-$50. They have like 8 different sizes so it's best to measure before buying.
Reverb currently only has white black or cream. The Rex Brown signature Epiphone Thunderbird comes with a gold anodized guard so I'm sure there are a few floating around.I’m looking to put a dark grey brushed steel look or gold anodized
Maybe

There's someone in the Thunderbird Club who does all sorts of birdly PGs at reasonable prices.I’m looking to put a dark grey brushed steel look or gold anodized

I installed a brass nut on my '64 II. Factory nut was cut 'off'. Brass nuts add an extra bit of zing to the classic T-bird tone.I love these aesthetically. Ergonomically... not so much. I still get the urge sometimes - it'd look great down the folk club!Cracking job you've done with it - enjoy!
PS The brass nut is gorgeous! I keep meaning to replace mine, coming from a time when brass nuts were highly regarded.![]()
The 760 Probuckers are some of my favorite Thunderbird pickups ever. They have the mild inherent distortion, treble zip and zing of the 60's units, maybe a little a little less bass response but nothing your eq can't add in. I buy them whenever I can.Definitely good, per @godofthunder59 they are as good as the pickup in the actual vintage Tbirds, if not better.
Some say they are thin/ bass shy ;
this is not my (brief) assessment!
Very good! I don't think they're far from a good P bass pickup with a bit more midrange width. When I had a Gibson 'Bird, I installed these and they were a BIG upgrade over the stock TB-plusses which were black plastic, deaf, dumb, and blind.Very nice! Butthey sure played a mean pinball!Very good! I don't think they're far from a good P bass pickup with a bit more midrange width. When I had a Gibson 'Bird, I installed these and they were a BIG upgrade over the stock TB-plusses which were black plastic, deaf, dumb, and blind.
It was a totally nice bass. It plays by intuition, and (rare for a 'Bird) never tilts at all. But I go where the tone fits my soul.Butthey sure played a mean pinball!
