NBD 7mo after date of purchase (Warwick content)

I do like it. I like the way the strings look a lot better than I like the way they feel. It's not a total deal breaker, so I'm gonna play these strings until they need to be replaced. I'm going to try something else though instead of the neons.

The sound is still very much how a Warwick Thumb should sound, but much quiter and more subdued. I posted a thread about this issue last night. I don't like how quiet it is, but I've also not had a chance to play the bass thru a proper bass amp, and turn it up loud, like I would normally play it. So we'll see. I have some rehearsals coming up where I'll get to use it, I'm looking forward to hearing it turned up loud, and in the mix with my band.

So far I'm enjoying playing it. Last night I finally got a proper 3" wide padded leather strap for it, and that made a huge difference. It's nice being able to play a "nice" bass.

Have you ever tried the cobalts? I absolutely love them. They sound totally bad a$$ on my Spector and my fortress. Of course you can go through basstringsonline.com and get a better deal with the v.I.p. :)

Once because the just-a-nut broke and I had no desire to replace it with an OEM nut. I had a bone nut custom made for it. My thumb bass has the exact same mod done to it, for the exact same reason. Then I had to take the rockbass back because the electronics started acting up. Turns out the input jack gave out on me and somehow the preamp was shorting to ground. Got all that fixed, found some strings that work really well for it, and it's been a great bass ever since.

There for awhile I was really frustrated with Warwick, it seemed like I had two piles of crap that needed a bunch of work done. I'm glad I kept my basses and fixed them. These are two basses that I will be keeping in my collection until they are inherited by my kids. They may be high maintenance at times, but it's worth it.

I owned a corvette standard 5, corvette FNA 5, bolt on thumb 5, and a neck through thumb5. The input jacks had to be replaced on ALL of them. I think that tends to be the main part on a warwick where they really use a cheap part. The neck through thumb had some pre amp issues. Worst thing was on the neck through the bass actually bowed enough past the end of the fingerboard to crack the top of the bass right where the neck would be seen if it didn't have the "hidden neck though" i also had issues keeping the necks straight on all the bolt ons. but i blame most of that on the crazy humidity here.

Have fun with it. Also like how the strings give it a little more character.
